THE healthy oomph of oats will be in Ipoh Starwalk, thanks to 11,600 sachets of Captain Oats Eazy-Go Instant Oatmeal and Instant Oat Porridge from Federal Oats Mills (FOM) Sdn Bhd.

The company is sponsoring RM15,000 worth of its signature products for the community event taking place on May 6.

The sachets come in various flavours, Honey and Raisins, and Skim Milk for the oatmeal, and Chicken and Mushroom and Mixed Vegetables for the oat porridge.

FOM executive director Michael Chew said the company was proud to sponsor the walk for the fifth year to promote healthy living.

“It is convenient to prepare, tasty and nutritious, an ideal selection for those with a busy lifestyle,” he said.

Chew also said FOM would be setting up a new RM120mil plant under the Penang International Halal Hub Food Zone in Batu Kawan.

Estimated to be completed by end of next year, he said the new mill will meet stringent health standards of European countries and catapult FOM into the global market where the company is already exporting its products to over 40 countries.

Chew handed over the sponsorship to Star Media Group Berhad’s sales and advertisement representative Mohammad Shohib Ahmad Ibrahim at his office in Mak Mandin Industrial Estate recently.

Currently in its 15th edition, Ipoh Starwalk will be flagged off at the Perak Turf Club, the official venue provider, at Jalan Raja DiHilir at 7am on May 6.

The walk is organised by Star Media Group with Ipoh City Council, Perak Education Department and Perak Athletic Association.

The official hotel for the event is Weil Hotel. The platinum sponsor for the event is telecommunications company YES. The gold sponsor is Indomie while the silver sponsors are F&N, Sports Toto and Counterpain.

The entry fee is RM13 per person. The public can sign up at The Star’s Ipoh office at No 8-10, Lorong Chung Thye Phin, from 9am to 5pm (Monday to Saturday, except public holidays), or register online at Register Starwalk.
